Slurry & viscous fluid knife gate valves are designed to accommodate the most demanding applications, including abrasive and wear-resistant slurries and viscous fluids. The use of standard bidirectional valves in these applications will be inefficient as these fluids tend to stick and dry. Slurry & Viscous Fluid Knife Gate Valves with elastomeric gasket with full seal, rubber-free flow path providing minimum pressure drop, unshielded design, short-time non-contact with direct fluid in valve opening and closing motion, are suitable for use in challenging applications involving both dry and wet materials as well as large particulate materials.
The solid materials remaining on the bottom surface of the pipe and valve form a crescent-shaped deposit on the other knife gate valves, preventing the valve from closing completely and eventually causing abrasions on the surface of the gate or on the gate. Thanks to the special design of slurry & viscous fluid knife gate valves, these deposits are thrown out to the surface under the valve or by an integrated grooving system. With this design, Slurry & Viscous fluid knife gate valves provide a reliable operation in industries where abrasive slurries and viscous materials are processed; such as mining industry.
» Full port, Bi-directional (double direction), rising spindle, two-part sliding blade valve
» Use in applications containing large particulate matter as well as dry and wet materials
» Design without seals
» Rat flow path providing minimum pressure drop
» Body not in direct contact with fluid
» Design that prevents buildup and thus prevents abrasion
» Possibility to change sleeve and gate without needing to remove the valve from the line
